EARTH DAY 2013

ON MONDAY WE CELEBRATED EARTH DAY!

THANKS FROM HANNAH TAYLOR AND LADY BUG FOUNDATION

A very special letter was sent to our class from Hannah Taylor and the Lady Bug Foundation for our participation in the Ladybug Foundation Program, our cookie sale fundraiser and clothing drive for the homeless.  We were all so excited about the letter and certificate!
This week we also had the opportunity to see Hannah Taylor's presentation live at the TedX event via the web.  Her message reminded us that children and teens are the most important tool in implementing change in the world.  They are the most creative individuals and their hearts are open to all.  As a teacher it reminded me that if and when a student comes to me with a concern for others and desire to see change I need to hear them out, completely.... and help them to implement this change no matter what!

Anti-Bully Dance Video

Finally figured out how to get our Anti-Bully Video on our Blog!  Kids will be so pumped to show their families!!  This video is played daily as the kids request this for our daily dance time! :)

Message to LILY's mom

I miss you mom! I love you so much! I can't wait for you to come home at the end of May! I have 4 loose teeth and I am getting taller. (Lily's mom is a member of the Canadian military and is away on training!

DAY OF PINK

All our Kinders participated in DAY of PINK! We wrote in our journals about how we treat others and we did our BULLY FREE DANCE! Some of the messages included: I say hello when people come in the classroom (Alec), I stand up for people (lily), I tell the teacher when someone is bullied (Joshua), I help my friends when they are sad (Seth), when bullies are bad I say STOP (kyra), I can stand up to the bullies (Michela), I don't fight people (jaden), I don't hurt Hannah I love her so much (Valerie), I say STOP, I help the other people (Kyle), I help Jonah get to bed (Caroline), I listen! I'm happy!(Hannah), we all wear pink to stick up to bullies (jay jay), I play with Hannah at kid city (Lamar).
Have been trying all night to put video on but can't figure it out so will get help tomorrow so STAY TUNED!

Day of PINK

Tomorrow Heritage will be participating in DAY OF PINK! Today we made pink bracelets to wear. All students are encouraged to wear PINK!!

We will miss you Jewel

Today is Jewel's last day in our class! We will miss her smile, her hugs, her beauty, her silliness and how much fun she is! Thanks for being a nice friend and great student!
